It has been concurred unanimously by the Advisory Board that a 25 hour/week administer position is needed for the Parish. We are currently receiving applications for this position. However, we want to thank Jessica, who was hired as a temporary secretary during the interim. Jessica will be returning to her other job. Her last day working will be September 2nd. She has accepted the offered to apply for the new position.
In the meantime we will need your patience and support during this hiring period, especially with the leaflets.

Back to Church Sunday - September 27, 2009
Have you thought about who you will bring to Church on Sept. 27 for Back to Church Sunday? Here is what you need to do over the summer.
- Think about family members, friends, neighbours, co workers who once attended church, but for one reason or another, haven't been for a while.
- Ask them if they would like to come with you.
- Write their name(s), and yours, on the clipboard in the narthex
- Bring them to church with you on Sept. 27 to either the 8:30 or 10:30 service, and enjoy the service
Check out the TIPS sheet and posters in the Narthex.

It's been sounding like Christmas in the McHaffie house this week! Not because we have the seasons wrong, but because we have been playing the new Christmas CD from The Larkin Singers entitled "A New Work is Come on Hand". Those who enjoyed the performance on June 15 know the sound of The Larkin Singers. In this CD, they sing a few old favourites, such as "Tomorrow shall be my dancing day" and "Once in Royal David's City", a few older songs, and some that are very new. CD sales will support the choir in their first off-shore venture - singing at Bristol Cathedral and St. Mary's Redcliffe. If you would like a CD (for $20 taxes included), please get in touch with Ian McHaffie.

Holy Family's Christmas Bazaar
Christmas in August?? Don't be silly! BUT, just think! Are you making some JAM, some PICKLES, some SALSA or some CHUTNEY? Maybe some PIES? If you are, please consider putting aside a jar or two for our Bazaar. We would really appreciate it! Thank you. -Maggie Todd
__________________________________________________________________Contemplation in a Garden
Some
people find that meditation, contemplation and prayer in a garden
setting are
helpful. This can be a problem for those without gardens, or for those
whose
gardens are more of a chore than a pleasure.
If you
would like to just sit in a garden and perhaps think, pray, reflect or
just be
alone, please feel free to do so in Paddy Ann's & Ian's garden. The
invitation is general for Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. At
those
times the garden will be as quiet as we can manage (no weeding or
mowing going
on) and can be enjoyed by any member of Holy Family who would like to
be there.
If you feel like coming, just come. No need to knock at the door or
make a
prior arrangement. Just come through the gate on the right of the house
(as you
face the garage). There is a slope but you can hold on to the fence.
There is
no program and we do not guarantee to be at home, but you are most
welcome to
come and enjoy the garden.
-Paddy Ann McHaffie
All posters for the bulletin must be submitted to the office for approval, before they can be posted. Thank-you.

Parroquia San Esteban is a ministry which provides help to new immigrants in Canada. They represent a spiritual oasis for hundreds of people who are looking for Christian solidarity. Many of their parishioners are in great need.
In some cases, a number of people are sharing small apartments, and are sleeping on the floor. The apartments are empty of essential items to live.
We are urgently looking for the following items:
- Mattresses (box springs if possible)
- Sheets
- Blankets
- Pillows
- Pots and Pans
- Plates and utensils
- Towels
Please contact Father Maurice Francois, to collect your donations. Thank-you very much for helping out those in need.

Parking at the church: Fit individuals with no small children are asked to park across the street in the Pharmacy parking lot, there is no need to park in the fire routes. This frees space for guests.

Are you a knitter? If you are, the Craft Group would appreciate your help. We have kits ready to be made up for our annual Bazaar in November. Please see Bertha or myself Louise, for a kit to take home today after both services. Thanks, the Craft Group.

Hazard!! Please be very careful opening the door to the left of the front pews that leads to the back stairs. People crossing behind are vulnerable.

Please remember to feed our Food Cupboard! Needed: chicken noodle soup, soda crackers, powdered milk, spaghetti sauce, canned ravioli…worship nourishes the soul, but food nourishes the body.

Graphic Design:
If any member of the parish is involved with Graphic Design (in a
professional or amateur capacity) we would like to call upon your
expertise. Please let one of the Wardens or a sidesperson know: you
will receive a call on how you might be able to assist the parish in a
project.
Greetings! What a year!!! It has gone by so quickly!!!
Sunday school will be on vacation from Sunday July 19 until September.
I would like to plan a pool event or a fun event on Sunday 12 July
about 2 pm. Please email me if you can attend as booking the pool is
contingent on the interest and response I receive. Parents are
encouraged to attend with their children, making it a family event. I
would like to extend a special invitation to the youth group members
who would like to attend and assist with the event. Please email me
back by Friday July 3rd, as I would like to finalize arrangements as
soon as possible.
Many Thanks, Carolyn
Brikett
Please send all announcements and flower dedications for the “Happenings” no later than Wednesdays (printing is on Thursday morning). Thank-you!
