Our parish has committed itself to assist others both in our local community, as well as those outside our immediate boundaries. Our assistance includes:
Local Community
§ Food cupboard assists individuals and families
§ Outreach garden provides fresh produce to parishioners and the food cupboard
§ Caring and Sharing provides gifts and food at Christmas to families in need within the community
§ Christmas “mitten tree” donations of winter wear for families in need
Diocesan
§ FaithWorks Diocesan Outreach -
FaithWorks, begun in 1997, is an annual appeal throughout the Diocese of Toronto. It supports a variety of initiatives including:
§ Anglican Appeal
§ LOFT (formerly known as Anglican Houses)
§ Primate's World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF)
§ Anglican Church in Canada Council of the North (Indigenous Ministries)
Our local support has been given to:
§ The Bridge
§ Ste. Louise outreach centre
§ Honeychurch ministries
Beyond our boundaries
§ Moorelands camp supports disadvantaged children to enjoy the camp experience through gifts such as backpacks, sleeping bags, toiletries, a
canoe donated by parishioners
§ Operation Christmas Child provides “shoeboxes” of materials for girls and boys
§ Foster child supports our Foster Children: Joelle in Benin, Africa, and Finda in Guinnea.
